Musicals of the 1960s – The Full List of Shows

The post-golden age musicals of the 1960s showed off more experimental shows and culturally diverse plots. A few of the popular trends at the time included folk/rock, deeper plots, Charles Strouse, Jerry Herman, Kander & Ebb, comedies, love stories, and shows set in the 1930s.

The 1960s are also referred to as the “post-golden age” musical theatre time period. Here’s the full list of musicals that premiered during the decade. And to enhance your researching experience, you can pop on Theatre Trip’s Spotify playlist while scrolling – “The Best Musical Songs of the 1960s”➝.
