Man of La Mancha: Musical Information & Synopsis

Synopsis

Man of La Mancha unfolds within the confines of a Spanish prison during the 16th century. The story follows the imprisoned author Miguel de Cervantes, who, along with his loyal manservant, presents a play as a defense during a mock trial. This play-within-a-play recounts the tale of Alonso Quijana, an old man who believes himself to be the chivalrous and idealistic Don Quixote. Man of La Mancha is an exploration of the power of imagination, idealism, and the human spirit.
