Synopsis:

Bye Bye Birdie follows the story of teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie, who has just been drafted into the US Army. Upon receiving the news, his agent Albert Peterson comes up with a publicity stunt to boost sales before he leaves – a live performance followed by a public farewell kiss with a lucky girl from his fan club. After 16-year-old Kim McAffee is chosen for the kiss, things take a turn and comedic chaos ensues. Bye Bye Birdie touches on themes of love, fame, and teenage crushes.
