Hairspray: Musical Info & Synopsis
Synopsis:
Hairspray follows the story of Tracy Turnblad, an optimistic and plus-sized teenager with a passion for dancing. Despite the societal norms that favor slimmer figures, Tracy is determined to make her mark on a local TV dance program, “The Corny Collins Show,” and promote diversity and inclusion in the process. Her journey takes her through the world of dance, civil rights, and self-acceptance. Hairspray is a feel-good celebration of individuality and the power of change.
