The Likes of Us tells the true story of Thomas Barnardo, a philanthropist who dedicated his life to helping disadvantaged children in Victorian London. The narrative follows Barnardo’s journey as he overcomes obstacles and prejudice to establish his first orphanage. The Likes of Us celebrates the power of compassion, resilience, and the legacy of this man’s extraordinary kindness.

* Although The Likes of Us was originally written in the 1960s, the musical’s opening was delayed, leading to its eventual premiere decades later in 2005.
