Going to the theatre can become an expensive activity over time. But not to fear! We’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of seven amazing ways to get cheap theatre tickets for West End, Broadway and beyond!

Please note: This post contains affiliate links. This means that if you choose to make a purchase through one of the following links, we may earn a small commission on the sale at no additional cost to you. See our disclosure for more info.

1. TodayTix

TodayTix➝ is a quick and easy way to get cheap and last-minute theatre tickets to all kinds of shows. And the best part? It’s available in multiple cities (New York, London, Chicago, Los Angeles + 10 others)! You can even search by critics’ picks, favorites, and shows that are closing soon.

2. TDF

TDF➝ (Theatre Development Fund) is a non-profit organization that prides themselves on “bringing the power of performing arts to everyone”. As a TDF member, you can save up to 70% on theatre tickets for an entire year. And on top of that, you’ll get access to music and dance performances as well.

3. Lotteries

There are plenty of opportunities to enter digital lotteries for all of the hottest shows on both Broadway and West End. With a bit of patience and planning, you’ll end up seeing your new favorite show at a fraction of the cost! You can check out Broadway For Broke People➝ for updated lottery information.

4. Rush Tickets

Rush tickets are similar to the concept of entering digital lotteries. But with rush tickets, you’ll typically have to show up at the actual theatre at a specific time. Just like above, you can also check out Broadway For Broke People to keep up on the current rush ticket offerings.

5. Standing Room

Some theaters offer an opportunity to purchase low-cost tickets in exchange for not receiving an actual seat. For example, Shakespeare’s Globe in London offers standing room tickets for a mere £10 (and that’s instead of paying £20 – £60 per ticket). Make sure to check the theater’s website to see if they have any standing room tickets for sale.

6. TKTS Discount Booths

TKTS➝ is responsible for those popular discount ticket booths that rest in the heart of NYC. The lines can be long but you can grab day-of tickets for up to 50% off! It’s a wonderful alternative to buying tickets through the theater’s box office.

7. HIPTIX

NYC’s Roundabout Theatre Company offers a really cool program for theatre goers who are between 18 – 35. Upon joining HIPTIX➝, you’ll be able to grab $25 tickets to all of Roundabout’s shows. Plus, you’ll get the occasional invite to great parties as well!
