Synopsis

Philemon is set in the ancient city of Antioch, where the commander, Marcus Gallerius, is determined to capture Christians. To achieve his goal, he recruits Cockian, a street performer, to impersonate Philemon, a Christian priest and leader. At first reluctant, Cockian agrees to stay in jail and gather information in exchange for a promise of freedom. Philemon touches on themes of religious persecution, personal freedom, and the power of redemption.
