Lin-Manuel Miranda is a three-time Tony Award winning composer and lyricist who is especially well-known for his mega hit musical, Hamilton. Miranda has also won a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, and a Pulitzer Prize for his work (to name just a few).

In the Heights (2005)
Music/Lyrics: Lin-Manuel Miranda Book: Quiara Alegría Hudes
Set in New York City’s Washington Heights, this musical follows the inspiring Usnavi as he dreams for a brighter future. In the Heights was Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway musical and went on to win four Tony Awards (nominated for 13)!
Bring It On (2011)
Music/Lyrics: Tom Kitt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Amanda Green Book: Jeff Whitty
Inspired by the hit film, Bring It On is a inside look into the competitive world of high school cheerleading. This collaboration between Miranda, Kitt, Green, and Whitty received two Tony Award nominations.
21 Chump Street (2014)
Music/Lyrics: Lin-Manuel Miranda
21 Chump Street is a short yet powerful musical that’s based on an episode of This American Life. And in it, the protagonist ends up falling in love with an undercover police officer.

And of course, there’s Hamilton, the modern retelling of the life of one of the USA’s founding fathers. Hamilton hit the jackpot with 11 Tony Awards (including “Best Musical”, “Best Book”, and “Best Original Score”), along with the Pulitzer Prize for drama!
