Made in Dagenham: Musical Info & Synopsis

Synopsis:

Made in Dagenham is based on the real-life events of the 1968 Ford sewing machinists strike in Dagenham, England. The story centers on Rita O’Grady, a working-class woman who becomes an unlikely leader in the fight for gender equality. Rita and her female coworkers at the Ford factory are unfairly classified as unskilled laborers, receiving lower wages than their male counterparts. Frustrated by the injustice, Rita takes a stand and leads her fellow women in a strike that eventually garners national attention. Made in Dagenham is a tale of empowerment, solidarity, and the triumph of justice in the face of adversity.
