Synopsis

By the Beautiful Sea follows the story of Lottie Gibson, a famous performer, who returns to her family’s boarding house in Coney Island for the summer. When a charming actor named Dennis Emery comes to town with plans to perform Shakespeare, Lottie tries to help him out financially. But Dennis has his own secrets, and chaos ensues as everyone tries to protect their reputations. By the Beautiful Sea touches on themes of love, family, fame, and the performing arts.
