Synopsis

Strike Up the Band follows the story of Horace J. Fletcher, the ambitious and patriotic owner of a cheese factory that’s threatened by a trade dispute with Switzerland. When Fletcher proposes the idea of starting a war with Switzerland in order to boost the American cheese industry, a series of romantic entanglements and comedic misunderstandings ensue. Strike Up the Band is a classic jazz age musical filled with comedy, romance, business, and politics.
