I have been described as a G-note baritone with range from G3-G8… my knowledge of music is extremely limited… I generally stay within my voice range and my favorite genre would be crooner pop… Neil Diamond.. Billy Joel..Elton John.. Lionel Richie.. Kenny Rogers.. Garth Brooks.. Frank Sinatra..Tom Jones and the like… I would love to learn some new stuff but really don’t know where to look 😕
Hi Ron! Thanks for the message. If I were you, I would first, go through this quick exercise to really pin down your exact vocal range, just to be super sure of where you stand.
Next, I would check out this list of rock songs for baritones! There are a couple of songs by Elton John and Billy Joel on there as well.
Lastly, you can search through this long list of non-musical theatre songs and try out anything that says “baritone” or “baritenor” (Since you are a “G baritone” you might also be comfortable with a lot of “baritenor” material). I think you’ll find a lot of fun stuff in there. In the meantime, I’ll be posting more non-musical theatre repertoire for singers in the near future, so keep an eye out on the blog! Hope this helps!
