Once Upon a Mattress: Musical Info & Synopsis

Synopsis:

Once Upon a Mattress offers a twist on the classic fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea. Set in a medieval kingdom, the story follows the search for a princess to marry Prince Dauntless, a young man whose domineering mother, Queen Aggravain, has made it nearly impossible for anyone to pass her rigorous tests. Enter Princess Winnifred, a spirited and unrefined young woman from the swamps, who arrives at the castle seeking the prince’s hand in marriage. Her unconventional behavior and genuine nature quickly win the hearts of the kingdom’s subjects, even as Queen Aggravain schemes to thwart their union.
