Synopsis

Kat and the Kings is set in South Africa during the apartheid era. The story follows Kat Diamond and his band, The Cavalla Kings, as they navigate the vibrant and racially segregated music scene of District Six. As they dream of success, they face the harsh realities of racism and oppression. With lively music influenced by jazz, rock & roll, pop, and doo-wop, Kat and the Kings explores themes of friendship, resilience, and music’s ability to transcend barriers.
