Synopsis

Flower Drum Song revolves around Mei-Li, a young refugee from China, who encounters a young man named Wang, who is working to keep the tradition of Chinese opera prominent. As Mei-Li finds the balance between traditional values and the desire for a new, American way of life, Flower Drum Song weaves together themes of immigration, love, and the quest for belonging.
